Blue Moods Quintet

Miles Davis’ 1955 album “Blue Moods” is like a catapult that takes us straight back to the cool jazz era and the smoky New York jazz clubs of the 20th century. Despite the tension between Miles Davis and Charles Mingus, two of the biggest egos in jazz at the time, they were able to put their differences aside just enough to create one of the most outstanding jazz records of the era. The Viennese quintet comprising of local musicians Dominik Fuss, Phil Yaeger, Tobias Meissl, Gregor Aufmesser and Hubert Bründlmayer takes the “Blue Moods” repertoire for a spin and bathes the audience in the unmistakable nostalgia of 1950s Manhattan.
