British saxophonist, composer, and bandleader Emma Rawicz comes to ZWE for her first appearance in Vienna and her Austrian big band debut. At only 23, the BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist has already released three acclaimed albums and worked with ensembles such as the WDR Big Band and UMO Jazz Orchestra. Together with the MUK Jazz Orchestra of the Music and Arts University of the City of Vienna, she presents her striking original music—blending the orchestral richness of Maria Schneider and Kenny Wheeler with rock energy, folk-inspired melodies, and bold improvisation.
